Service Description
Manual Therapy is a more hands-on type of therapy for under preforming muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. Depending on how severe the injury is, athletes may have to go to trained professional. Treatments may include a lot of joint mobilization, to regain movement in the joint, muscle stretching and movements designed to help muscle activation. If the injury is not severe patients can do some easy treatments at home; such as; Self-Myofascial Release (SMR) which uses “tools” you can buy at home, most commonly buying a foam roller to relieve pain on the trigger point. This is similar to getting a deep tissue massage. many people also use tennis balls to role on their backs and golf ball for their feet and shins. Some other easy treatments to do at home are flexibility exercises. Tight calves, hamstring and quads happen very often to athletes and it important to treat instantly before the injury gets worse.
